Client Data Normalisation Agent

Turns messy trial balances, ledgers and exports into clean financial data mapped to the firm’s own leadsheets.

The challenge

Every client sends data differently: a ledger export with merged cells, a trial balance as a scanned PDF, three entities in one workbook. Associates lose the first days of an engagement reshaping files before any audit work starts.

What the agent does

  • Reads whatever arrives, including spreadsheets, PDFs and accounting-system exports, and detects structure, entities and periods.
  • Maps each account to the firm’s leadsheet grouping, starting from last year’s mapping and proposing matches for new accounts.
  • Checks the result: debits equal credits, opening balances agree to prior-year closing, sub-ledgers agree to control accounts.
  • Loads the clean trial balance into the engagement file and lists every account it could not map with confidence.

Your people stay in control

New or changed account mappings are confirmed by the in-charge before they are saved. Arithmetic checks are code, not model judgement.

Works with

  • General ledgers and their exports
  • Engagement and workpaper software
  • Client portal
  • Prior-year files

How we measure success

  • Hours from data received to mapped trial balance
  • Share of accounts mapped without correction
  • Balance-check failures caught before fieldwork

Kind of work

Document and data processing. The agent reads documents, checks the details and enters them into your systems.
