Workpaper Preparation Agent
Rolls forward last year’s file and prepares leadsheets, reconciliations and tie-outs for the associate to complete.
The challenge
Much of a workpaper is assembly: carrying forward the format, pulling this year’s balances, footing, cross-referencing. It is necessary and it is not where an associate’s judgement is needed.
What the agent does
- Rolls the prior-year file forward into the firm’s current templates.
- Populates leadsheets and supporting schedules from the mapped trial balance and client schedules.
- Foots and cross-foots, agrees schedules to the ledger, and cross-references between workpapers.
- Writes a first-pass fluctuation commentary and marks where an explanation from the client is still needed.
Your people stay in control
Every prepared workpaper is marked as agent-prepared and is completed and signed by a named preparer. Conclusions are never drafted as final.
