Month-End Close Agent
Runs reconciliations, accruals and variance commentary for client accounting teams, and tracks the close to finish.
The challenge
Outsourced accounting teams run the same close for dozens of clients on different ledgers. The work is predictable, the volume is not, and a late bank statement on one client delays the queue for all.
What the agent does
- Reconciles bank, card and control accounts and proposes matches for unreconciled items.
- Prepares recurring accruals and prepayments from schedules and contracts.
- Writes variance commentary against budget and prior period from the underlying transactions.
- Tracks the close checklist for each client and tells the accountant what is blocking it.
Your people stay in control
Journals above a set amount, and anything unusual, are posted only after the accountant approves. The agent has no payment permissions.
Works with
- Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite and similar ledgers
- Bank feeds
- Close-management tools
- Reporting packs
How we measure success
- Days to close
- Reconciling items cleared automatically
- Clients handled per accountant
Kind of work
Coordination across teams. A lead agent splits a large job between specialist agents and brings their work together.
